Why mine Bitcoin instead of exporting to the grid?
Export rates for solar generation are often low and can dip further when the sun is strongest, exactly when you generate most. Mining consumes that power on site and converts it to Bitcoin at a rate we can model in advance. On the call we compare both against your actual export arrangement, and we'll be straight with you if exporting is the better deal.
What happens when the sun isn't shining?
Miners don't need to run around the clock to make sense, though flexible running does affect payback times. Options include running only on generation windows, blending with a grid tariff, or hosting machines at one of our facilities. We'll walk through what fits your site.
How much space does a mining deployment need?
Less than you'd think. Containerised units sit on a concrete pad or hardstanding near your inverters or substation. A single container can host a meaningful deployment, and the footprint scales with your capacity.
What about noise, cooling and planning?
ASIC miners are loud up close, so siting and acoustic treatment matter, especially near neighbours. Cooling can be air or immersion. Planning requirements depend on your site and local authority. We cover the practicalities honestly on the call.
Do I need to understand Bitcoin to do this?
No. You need to understand your energy position, which you already do. We handle the mining side: hardware, configuration, pools, payouts and support. Plenty of our customers started with no crypto background at all.
